Hi, I'm Ainsley McGinn!

I'm a graphic design student also working towards a minor in marketing and sports media. My goal is to work with multiple people, help establish a clear brand and creative process, and create designs that entertain others.

How did I get started?

When I was in pre-school, my teacher asked, "What color is the sky?" While the class responded with "blue," I said "pink." As a little girl, I always viewed the world as being a colorful playground. Color was the first thing I was able to understand. Why say the sky is blue when it can be pink, orange, purple, and more? There should be no limits on what we can visually see. I also believe that when we allow ourselves to have no limits, we evolve in our creativity.

As for shapes, I did not understand how to write letters or numbers. I just understood how to draw them. For example, think of the number 5. To me, I would draw a square on top of a circle. Then, I would erase half of the square and half of the circle. After, I would be left with a five. Shapes are everywhere. We use shapes to design everything even down to the letters and numbers we use. Because I have always used colors and shapes this way, I see designing as a challenge to take what we know and create something new, elegant, and useable.

What do I do when I'm not

designing?

When I'm not working, I'm constantly watching cartoons and YouTube. My favorite cartoons are: Avatar: The Last Airbender, Teen Titans, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Arcane, Bluey, and more! One of my favorite YouTubers I've been watching is Kurtis Conner. His videos are hilarious to me, and I enjoy the topics he chooses. I'm also either going to the gym or playing lacrosse. Either way, I will somehow make time for the gym!

I also listen to all kinds of music as well. From country to rap, Spanish to metal, I LOVE all kinds of music. I'm not afraid to share any of my playlists!
